Field: Thinking about pediatrics.

Background: Blake Elwood grew up surrounded by lawyers. Her grandparents on both sides, both of her parents, and all three of her siblings all went down the line of law school and top notch lawyers. She wanted to be something different, though, so attended medical school instead of law school. Her family isn't very happy and is just waiting for her to fail and prove that they were right all along. She should have followed the family business instead of dreaming of becoming one of the best surgeons in the country.

Background: Zeeuh is a first generation college student. She grew up in a family with little money but a lot of love. She never got fancy things like cell phones, designer clothes, iPods, or a car when she turned 16. Everything she ever got she earned herself. Her good grades were the only thing that got her to med school and were the only thing that helped her get the full ride she needed to pay for it. She was number two in her class and is now determined to prove herself at Seattle Grace.

Intern/Resident/Attending?: 2nd year resident, transferred from Spring Valley Hospital.

Field: General

Background: Deanna grew up as an only child with a single mother. Her mother always wanted the world for her, and when she came down with cancer she pushed Deanna to follow her dreams and go to medical school. It was only when Deanna knew her mother was close to dying that she followed her request and went to school. Two months before graduating med school her mother passed away, never being able to see her daughter become the doctor she always knew she could be. Deanna now wants to help remove cancer from patients and save their lives because her mother will never have that chance.

Name: Ginelle Blackwell

Grew up in?: All over the world; military brat.

Background: Ginelle grew up traveling around the world with her father, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. She was always just getting used to a place before he would uproot her and they would move again. When she was 17 she finally started college and was on her way to becoming a Doctor. When she had finished med school she let her father pressure her into becoming a Doctor in the Army. She spent four years there and is now happily retired and wants to work in a hospital with a good reputation for saving lives. She saw way too many men die on the battlefield. She looks to Seattle Grace, requesting that her military past be hidden from her colleagues, not wanting to attract attention to all of her past achievements...

Name: Nevaeh Kowalski

Age: 26

Grew up in?: Austin, TX

Background: Nevaeh grew up in a happy, perfect family. Her parents were both wealthy, her father being a famous cardio surgeon and her mother just being from old money, and they always made sure their kids got everything. She traveled the world starting at a very young age and saw the poverty in other countries, which broke her heart. She wanted to become a doctor and travel, helping children, but first had to become an attending at a hospital. She heard amazing things about Seattle Grace from her father and was overjoyed when she got a place in their internship program. She only hoped they didn't think she was a spoiled little brat that was only there because of her father.

Background: Gemma grew up in a home where her father was abusive, physically and emotionally, and made it hard for her mother, her, and her sister to live. When she was sixteen she reported her father and he was taken to prison, threatening to find them when he got out. Gemma got into medical school on a full ride for having great grades and being an excellent volleyball player. When she graduated she didn't think she would get into Seattle Grace and was about to settle for an internship in Chicago when she got the call that she was accepted. She only hoped that moving her family to Seattle would keep them safe from a father who was due to get out in just over a years time.

Name: Valora Carlevaro

Intern/Resident/Attending?: Second year Resident, transferred from Bambino Gesu Hospital.

Field: Pediatrics

Background: Valora had grown up wanting to be a fashion designer but when she got into a car accident with her brother at the age of fourteen her entire life changed. His neck had begun to bleed and she found herself having to press down on his neck while people cut the car apart to get them out. If it weren't for her, he would have bled out and died. She knew that at that moment she wanted to save lives like she had saved her brother's. So she attended school and moved on to work at a pediatric hospital. She didn't like the way medicine worked in Italy, though, and decided to make the move to Seattle to start over.

Name: Terrylyn DuPont

Background: Terrylyn grew up in Seattle with her father who had raised her alone since she was three. Her mother had died in a plane accident and left the two of them to fend for themselves. Her father opened is own restaurant and they lived a pretty happy life with their new family; the restaurant staff. She often spent time at the restaurant with her father and he always assumed she would one day become a chef herself. He trained her from a very young age to be a magnificent chef, but when she told him she wanted to be a Doctor she assumed he'd be upset. Instead he was supportive and helped her pay for medical school, just wanting her to be happy as he always had.

Name: Hoshi Rhydderch

Intern/Resident/Attending?: 3rd year attending, transferred from Tokyo Clinic

Field: Plastics

Background: Hoshi's father was a Trauma surgeon in New York and was asked to move to Tokyo to work there when she was only eleven. She moved with her family and finished school there before going to medical school herself. Her father pushed her towards Trauma or Cardio, but she had an obsession with plastics. When he refused to support her she decided to leave Toyko to pursue medicine in the states where she had spent just under half of her life. The call from Seattle was a blessing and she took the first flight out of Tokyo for Seattle.

Name: Quenby Scheinberg

Age: 31

Grew up in?: Portland, OR

Intern/Resident/Attending?: Attending; transferring from Portland Hospital

Field: OBGYN

Background: Quenby was raised in an orphanage after her parents both died when she was just over one year old. The orphanage didn't have a lot of money, but the women who ran it were all very sweet. She was never adopted, which always weighed on her mind, but one of the women took her under her wing and helped her to do well in school. She got a full ride to school and studied to be an OBGYN. When she heard that there was an opening in Seattle she applied and was happy to get the job.
