Background: Phoenix was born and raised in Pallet Town of the Kanto region, and his parents were always loving and understanding. As a child, he was raised always being told that "he" was a "she", and that never quite made sense to him. To him, he was a boy. He loved to do boy things, played with all of the neighbourhood boys, and was almost always dirty. But more than knowing he was a boy, he knew that he loved Pokemon. He was always reading books on them, always asking his parents if they could catch one for him to have for a friend. When he was just 7 years old, his father came back from a trip to a larger city in the region with an egg. He was overjoyed! With much love and tender care, the egg hatched after 2 weeks and into a beautiful Eevee! It was around this time that he decided to tell his parents he wasn't a girl, but actually a boy. They of course were confused, but very accepting of him. They decided to let him choose a new name for his new journey, and it wasn't long until he chose "Phoenix", to signify his rebirth.
Years later, after finishing his education and he was stuck wondering what to do with his life, he declared he wanted to start a Pokemon Journey! He had heard a local girl had decided to do the same thing and he was certain he would love an adventure. He makes it clear to her that he wanted to travel with her. After all, strangers are friends just waiting to happen. | |
